Eagle seeks to become industry training leader

Eagle Adjusting Services has upgraded its training procedures with the long-term goal of being an adjusting industry leader in the field.

Under the direction of new Program Training Manager Brian Pompos, the company is expanding educational program for its newly hired and existing staff. The program is designed to establish core curriculums throughout the company to help adjusters to develop and refine their skill sets.

“We’re developing a multi-vehicle platform for educational services,” Pompos said.

What that currently entails is an interdisciplinary approach featuring classroom, hands-on and Web-based training. "The program is designed," Pompos added, "to build upon Eagle’s already existing and well-established procedures."

Over the long term the goal is for the program to serve as a third-party educator for dealing with property casualty losses including but not limited to hail, wind and flood claims.

Eagle managing medical claims for adjusters, private clients

Helping insurance adjusters and other private companies’ employees deal with worker’s compensation claims is the primary focus and rapidly expanding job of Eagle’s Managed Care Division.

Under the direction of Angie Djordevich, the division uses registered nurses to assist clients with the handling of long-term worker’s comp claims.

“Our job is to mitigate companies’ exposure,” Djordevich explained. “Almost 90 percent of our work right now comes from adjusters who have on-the-job injuries that are serious enough to need medical care.”

Nurses will typically call an adjuster, find out the long- or short-term needs and act as an advocate for the adjuster. This can include being in the examining room for evaluation of the injury, scheduling of appointments and follow-up reporting on subsequent results for the adjuster and the claimant.

“The nurses’ job is to help follow through with every step of the process,” Djordevich added.

The division’s responsibilities are not limited to the adjusting industry. It serves Pepsi-Cola with disability claims and provides nurse case management services to other well-known companies such as Celadon Trucking and International Automotive Components, a subsidiary of the Lear Corporation.
